What we collect

When you create a library, we store your name and the books from your Goodreads CSV export (title, author, your rating, and your review).

How we use it

Your library data and chat messages are sent to Google Gemini to generate personalized book recommendations. We use the paid Gemini API, which means Google does not use your prompts or responses to improve their products. Google only logs this data temporarily to detect policy violations. We don't use your data for anything else.

Data retention

Libraries are automatically deleted after 90 days. We don't store chat history—conversations exist only during your session.

Third parties

Google Gemini: Recommendations are powered by Google Gemini's paid API. Your data is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and the Gemini API Terms of Service.

Vercel Analytics: We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how people use BookyBooks. This collects anonymous usage data (page views, visitor counts) without using cookies or tracking personal information. See Vercel's Analytics Privacy Policy.
